Fabian Cancellara withdrew from tour due to injury from the previous day's crash. Tony Martin attacked with 4km to go to claim yellow.
- Stage 6
GC leader Tony Martin went down within the final km, but held on to the yellow jersey. However, later on in the evening, he withdrew from the tour due to a broken collarbone sustained from the accident.
- Stage 8
2014 winner, Vincenzo Nibali, lost contact with the lead bunch during the final 2km climb, which saw him losing 10 valuable seconds overall.
- Stage 9 Team Time Trial
The dominance of BMC Racing, Team Sky and Movistar Team in the team time trial widened the time gaps.
- Stage 10 The Pyrenees
Chris Froome destroyed everyone during the last 6.4km climb up La Pierre-Saint-Martin to claim an incredible 2 minutes 52 seconds overall lead.
- Stage 17 The Alps
The first day in the Alps saw 3rd place GC contender Tejay Van Garderen withdraw from the tour due to illness, and former Tour winner Alberto Contador lose valuable time after suffering from a crash.
- Stage 20 The Alps
Nairo Quintana launched several brilliant attacks up L'Alpe d'Huez, but did not gain enough on Chris Froome, who became the effective winner of the 2015 tour.
